A reflective essay on the “Power” category of writing problems
Writing problems
When writing (as a writer), it is useful to identify the desired consequence (in our case writing verb). To achieve it the writer needs to have answers to two questions. What social authority and agency can help to determine the desired consequence? Then the originator can go to the next step and identify the target audience. It is necessary to write within this particular (in Champaign, IL) city limits when redesigning the (desired outcome) intersection of Neal and Kirby. Urban City Council does not have the social authority that’s why it is unsafe for a writer to write about it. Social authority (a group of people) has a right to control and judge (individuals should act according to the instructions) actions performed by individuals. The challenge of power is divided into two stages the existing situation (no target audience is identified yet) and wanted result (target audience is defined). Between these two phases (gap) the originator needs to use working texts when referring to the challenge of power. They include the desired outcome statement and audience identification. The writer investigates the target audience through the audience analysis process. During this process, the originator (a writer) is able to recognize the information (relevant to the topic) that a target audience already knows. During this stage, the author divides the target audience regarding the audience context (during special cases as verb writing) into two groups. In the first step, the writer needs to identify the main topic (a dominant idea) of a paragraph or the whole text (writing-as-a-verb context). In the last step, the originator (a writer) has to identify a category of data (researching the central theme).
