Executive Summary
Goodness Falls Security Agency is a non-profit organization that specializes in providing affordable high-quality security services. The company leases residential and corporate security guards and provides security lighting to communities living in crime-prone areas. The organization shall be run and supported by former security officers who have experience serving in the police force, military or in security companies. This project was necessitated by the rise in security concerns in the country amidst a tough economy that has made it hard for low-income earners to afford quality security for their homes and businesses. The project shall be carried out in phases with training of guards and subsequent deployment coming in the last phases of the project. The erection of lampposts shall be a continuous project as may be deemed necessary by the organization’s management. The budget allocation for this project came to $171,000 with the figure expected to fund all expenses. The time allocations for the phases involved in the implementation of this project are also shown.
Statement of Need
Concerns about crime and terrorism are on the rise. Bearing in mind the current economic climate many people are finding it hard to employ the services of security guards. They are therefore left vulnerable to robberies and terror attacks. In addition, security concerns keep on changing as robbers and terrorists devise trickier ways to carry out their activities undetected. Many security companies of the yesteryears are still rooted in the old fashioned methods of ensuring security. Some have an ageing workforce of guards who are not properly adept with technology, have lost agility and therefore offer compromised security to their clients. Due to increased inefficiencies among security companies, their costs of production and operation are high and they are compelled to pass them over to their clients (Fischer, Halibozek & Walters, 2013). As such two main needs emerge; one on the need for cheaper security services and the other in the need for high-quality security services with young, agile and technologically adept guards armed with modern equipment. In addition, research has proven that areas that have ample lighting usually experience lesser cases of crime. This is the case in the community and as such there is need for our organization to provide street lighting as a measure to reduce crime. This project is necessary because it seeks to provide affordable high-quality security services by providing residential security guards and corporate security guards.
Project Description
The project will be implemented in several phases. After the registration with the relevant authorities, the management shall select appropriate premises in which to carry out administration work and another premise on which to train its guards. Once the premises have been acquired, the management of Goodness Falls shall embark on the recruitment of staff to run the office and to assist in the hiring and training of guards. The trainers shall be contracted from top security companies and the military. The second phase will be the recruitment of guards to be trained in line with modern security concerns and ways to handle them. They shall also be trained on the use of security technology, customer service among other aspects that constitute wholesome security. While the guards are being trained, the marketing department team will be contacting potential clients and making arrangements for placement of guards. The services offered by the organization include but are not limited to:-
- Guard entrances to buildings and screen employees and guests
- Monitor premises by use of video surveillance equipment
(Jaquish, 2006; Fischer, Halibozek & Walters, 2013).
