Enrollment: Mudgeeraba Creek State School realizes its primary obligation is to provide adequate and accessible services for children within the catchment region of the institution. The school has a limited capacity to handle children from outside its catchment area. It current capacity can hold up to 900 learners. The institution currently has 629 pupils (293 girls and 336 boys) The children entering Prep annually should not exceed 125 in the five classrooms unless there more than 125 kids in the catchment region. Any child, whose residence is within the learning institution’s catchment area, has the opportunity of enrolling into Mudgeeraba Creek State School. The school also offers special positions for the kids who have just moved into the catchment area.
Staffing: Mudgeeraba Creek State School has a total of 74 staff members who comprise of 49 teachers and 25 specialists in co-curricular activities.
Facilities: The learning institutions has several facilities such as a library, uniform shop, tuck shop, performance center, education center, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and an outside school duration care (MCSS, 2009).
HISTORICAL
Mudgeeraba Creek State School hails from the natural environment of Mudgeeraba in Queensland. The backdrop of the region contains Gondwana Rainforests and a creek also known as Mudgeeraba that is part of the Australian Heritage Areas. The creek runs through the learning institution before flowing to the Nerang and Robina River and finally going into the open sea. The name of the school thus represents the significance of the natural surroundings. Since its established in 1996, the area has developed and grown into a leafy green educational environment with numerous facilities. The construction of Mudgeeraba Creek State School started in 1995 and involved a steering board that included the principal to make relevant decisions such as the school uniforms, motto, emblem, etc. The committee has continued to support the learning institution as well as establish another school nearby called the Clover Hill Primary to accommodate the growing population (MCSS, 2009).
STRUCTURAL
System: Mudgeeraba Creek State School thrives on three fundamental principles: academic excellence, positive behavior paradigm, STEM, sports, and music. It provides a secure and supportive environment for teachers to tutor and learners to study. The educational experiences are based on the Australian Curriculum. Also, the pupils get a chance to participate in special programs from Prep Year to the Sixth Grade.
Governance: The Parents & Citizens board has always been in charge of operations at the school since its establishment.
Parents Funding and Bodies: The parents have strong partnerships with Mudgeeraba Creek State School. The guardians take part in school projects, learning celebrations, workshops, and providing ideas for classroom session and activities (MCSS, 2009).
BIOGRAPHICAL
Local Events, Community & Entertainment Interests: The children together with their parents take part in local events such as Regional Cross Country and Sports Day Galas. The kids went on a trip to Canberra in 2015 where they enjoyed a smooth journey to Sydney by air, went to the Tarongo Zoo and Sydney Harbor, and took a long bus trip back home. Mudgeeraba Creek State School also holds annual events such as Premier Reading Challenges and Book Clubs where both the children and parents participate (MCSS, 2009).
SOCIO-CULTURAL
Jobs: The school has an almost equal composition of staff members from the female and male genders. Take the example of its parent & citizens association that has two women and two men. The highest proportion of the tutors has attained a bachelor’s degree indicating that Mudgeeraba Creek State School prefers a group of well-educated personnel.
Cultural Influences: Mudgeeraba Creek State School is more of a modernized learning environment based on the zero factors of indigenous practices or individuals in the institution. However, the school accords the children the freedom to participate in activities that may bring out their cultural influences such as music, poetry, and dance.
Religion: The learning institution has a chaplain who facilitates and gives pastoral care. Mudgeeraba Creek State School supports the exploration of the learners’ spirituality regardless of their beliefs (MCSS, 2009).
