Report on the Interview
In response to the first question the interviewee had to apply a lot of critical thinking. As a matter of fact not to let the dangerous criminal escape, he had to liaise and make an emergency call from the station to seek for further assistance. At the same time, he found it wise to call the nearby ambulance to carry the victims to the hospital. “All this has to be done within the shortest time possible,” he responded.
In the second question, he said that he would thoroughly interrogate the cashier in a manner to acquire more information about the source of the counterfeit dollars. He insisted that he would ask probing questions in a more friendly way as it is done by Criminal Investigation Officers. In his view, this would retain the status quo of this officer not to be recognized as one of the police officers at that moment. In taking this stance, he would gather more relevant information concerning the fake money and take necessary action.
The response to question three was evident that this officer knew what he was up to at the job place. He decides to hold on and wait for things to unfold for him. He would kindly talk to his immediate supervisor to consider him when such a chance emerges. Meanwhile, he struggles to be the best in the other duties he performs.
While responding to question 4 – a robber firing at them during arrest – the interviewee said he would fire back at the gun as a way of self-defense. In this case, he responded that he would use force as opposed to other situations which are somehow negotiable. ‘Here, it is a matter of do or die, it is prudent to protect oneself’ he responded.
The issue of co-workers not relating well at the job place; question five, can be solved amicably by transferring either one of them, or all of them to different stations. This should come after an investigation to identify the cause of this behavior, besides a series of counseling session from relevant departments. However, the lasting solution here it to serve them with transfer letters to new stations with new friends.
