The visual of Ebola disease is an effective way of making people aware of the newly arrived disease in America. It is a very common proverb that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' One can identify the problem through the picture. The picture is a fine guide for a research. It can be discussed as a successful war of America against the dreadful disease Ebola. It means that American Health Department is fully prepared for the fight against Ebola and hence, the United States is not the suitable place for Ebola to stay. The flag of United States is shown in the picture, which represents that the picture is related to the United States and the artist is talking about the Ebola in the United States. The picture has portrayed Ebola virus in the form of a monster. The symbol of a monster is very apt, as the disease is dreadful like a monster. Number of people had to lose their lives after getting infected by the disease. The monster is trying to attack the United States with full power. The fight of the monster is with the doctors. The doctors are like brave soldiers, and their weapons are drugs and syringes. The drugs and syringes are the measures taken against Ebola in the United States. Ebola is a dreadful monster; hence it is portrayed in red colour. Red colour is associated with danger and that is why it is used to denote the severity of the disease. The red drops dribbling from the body of the monster suggest that the monster has taken several lives out of the United States. He has now entered the United States for more human lives.
The unity and promptness are seen among the doctors. There is a team spirit shown among the doctors. The expressions on their faces suggest that they are ready to do anything, take any risk to fight and kill the monster. The picture is very expressive to show America's step towards fighting against Ebola. The visual focuses on various measures taken by the health department of the United States to fight against Ebola.
The visual creates a sense of seriousness of the disease that is on the threshold of America. It also appreciates the efforts of American doctors to eradicate Ebola. Being a severely contagious disease, Ebola can spread rapidly if proper care is not taken. However the doctors and the medical organizations from America are striving hard to fight against Ebola. Though the Ebola is originated in Africa, it entered the United States. The United States found Ebola infected patient. It means that the virus of Ebola can sustain irrespective of the Geographical diversity and climatic change. Though the American doctors failed to save the first patient of Ebola, they are prepared with different drugs, injections and other medical provisions to fight and eradicate Ebola completely from United States.
The message “You picked a wrong country to Mess With,” signifies the doctors’ claim that Ebola can be controllable in America. The message is written in capital letters. It suggests that it is a collective warning given to the disease that it cannot conquer America and it cannot attain its evil objectives. It is because of the various remedies taken by the doctors and medical experts such as drugs, capsules, syringes, masks and hygienic environment. It is to indicate the readers that they do not need to be panic, but at the same time be careful of their health. It is also to convey the reader that Ebola can be spread anywhere irrespective of the Geographical conditions and climatic differences. The visual also signifies that America is armed with medicines, and other provisions to fight against Ebola. It is the appeal to all medical practitioners to come forward to the mission of Ebola eradication. The troop of doctor signifies the team efforts taken by the country.
The visual suggests that the authority is committed to save the people, and their health from any monstrous diseases. The message You picked up wrong country to Mess With also indicates that the people are aware of their hygiene, health and the nation is efficient in identifying the symptoms of the diseases, and finding proper measures to fight against it. Till now, it was the perception that Ebola is the disease of poor countries. But when the disease enters in the most developed country of the world, the people come to know that it can enter anywhere in the world. Still it is in the initial stage in America and only fistful of people has been infected by the disease.
There are two syringes shown in the visuals. One of them is a broken syringe. The point of the big syringe seems to be broken and bend. It signifies America’s failure to save the first patient of Ebola. The deceased patient travelled from Liberia to Texas. After that some more patients were diagnosed as infected by Ebola. The doctor tried their best to save patient with the available medicines but in vain. The doctors were late in diagnosing the patient. It may be suggesting that the traditional drugs are not that much effective, and the doctors need to find the effective drug on the disease. In the visual, there is a red mark on the cap of one of the doctors. The red mark may be indicating that while giving treatment to the Ebola patient, the doctor also has to be the victim of the monstrous disease.
The American flag also signifies the connection of Ebola with America's politics. There is both positive and negative response from the people about the way White House is handling the issue of Ebola. Aroung half of the people are not satisfied the way Ebola issue was handled by White House. The woul-be 2016 presidential candidates criticized the Government of Obama for their poor performance in fighting against Ebola. (Epstein) The prominent Republican Bobby Jindal condemned White House for not taking essential actions in combating with Ebola. He said that the government should have stopped flights from ebola-sticken African countries. In such case it can be the thesis statement what should be the future of Barak Obama in forthcoming election of America because of ebola issue. It is also a topic of research how can ebola affect American Political Scenario.
