Chapter Seven
Home ownership is crucial to the long term practicability of any community. Individuals who own homes within a community are more likely to get involved in community and neighbourhood matters that improve the quality of life than those who do not own homes. Furthermore, home ownership is by far one of the important tools for measuring living standards within a community or country. Therefore, home ownership is crucial for the completion and satisfaction of an individual in terms of contribution to the community and higher living standards that indicate economic growth and development.
Chapter Eight
Health care is guaranteed trough a health insurance cover. A health insurance cover provides one with coverage against part of or all costs arising accidental injuries or disease, depending on the health insurance policy and its terms. This proves to be a vital financial product every citizen should have irrespective of age, sex, gender or race. The only way to ensure a growing and productive economy is to ensure a healthy labor force devoid of the burden of incurring costs and expenses pertaining to everyday diseases and accidents.
Chapter Nine
I do not believe that when I retire, some 40+ years from now, the social security would still be operating smoothly or existent for that matter. I base this argument in the fact that in April 2012, the social security trustees delivered a worrying report that showed the funds for the trust program was being exhausted at an alarming rate. It was projected that the trust program’s funds would last at most 20 years if the lawmakers do not do something about it. This shows an overall bleak future for the social security trust program, one which I highly doubt will see itself survive past 2024.
Response to Question
I believe the answer and approach towards the fixing of the American healthcare system by Jacob Frutcher is valid. I strongly agree with the fact that the private sector does not need to be regulated since it is the highest employer in the country, plus profits generated by the private sector are needed for tax which is the backbone of treasury. However, in instances when the private sector turns greedy and neglects the consumer while making super-normal profits, then there is need for regulation. The health bill that is being championed by the president raises many questions due to the fact that it will have repercussions on the tax levels in the country.
