The problem the paper is addressing and why it matters
The article is addressing the natural resource protection of the buffer lands by wise resource management. The main concept of the article is to provide ecological protection with economic integration. This paper tends to add value to the health and well-being of in ecological goods and services. The paper matters a lot since it offers a paradigm of evaluating natural resources by suggesting the economical methods by which such a process can take place. Therefore, it provides an overall framework for natural environment evaluation by answering each question in detail (Burger, Gochfeld & Greenberg 2). Environmental assessment and evaluation is particularly significant as it helps the energy department to utilize their resources accordingly.
The methodology and data used in the paper
Since this is an empirical paper, the methodology used in this journal article is a case study. The study uses the Department of Energy (DOE) to examine the various questions related to the economics of natural resources. The case study methodology is appropriate for this study since it brings out the complex components regarding natural resource utilization. In this way, the researcher is able to address what has worked well, what is not working well, and the areas that need to be improved (Ploeg 388). Case study methodology enables the researcher to examine the real life phenomenon associated with the use of natural resources. The study uses the primary data from the DOE to make conclusions based on the objective of the study.
Main conclusions of the author
The main conclusion of this paper is that the policy makers need to assess and evaluate the use conditions of their natural resources accordingly. To maximize their evaluation, they need to have a clear definition of their objective and distinguish the type of natural resources within their disposal. With the clear distinction of the natural of different types of natural resources, resources can easily be allocated to them with much ease. This will facilitate the efficient and effective use of natural resources to benefit the public (Burger, Gochfeld & Greenberg 2). According to the author, the breadth of the natural resource evaluation problem can easily be solved. With an appropriate assessment of natural resources, the government stands to benefit from maximum utilization of the same natural resources (Latina, Roberta, & Michele 23).
An article that cites the article being reviewed
One of the articles that cite the article I’m reviewing compares ecological goods and cultural values (Burger, Gcohfeld, Pletnikoff, Snigaroff, Snigaroff, & Stamm). This article emphasizes on the usefulness of the natural resources in supporting the human needs. According to the authors, the use of natural resources should not just be seen from the monetary perspective. In addition, the author argues that natural resources can be linked to cultural resources. Therefore, the article establishes that the cultural resources need the natural resources to thrive. The authors conclude that the natural resources are important elements of cultural resources and the two needs to be treated as one to ensure sustainability in natural resource utilization (Humphreys 612).
Personal assessment of how significant, useful, readable, and well done the paper is
Natural resources are very significant in creating wealth. However, maximum wealth can be created from the natural resources when they are properly utilized. Proper utilization of natural resources calls for thorough evaluation done from an economic perspective. This will ensure that proper management and sustainability concepts are incorporated into the use of natural resources. Therefore, this paper is very significant in terms of natural resource utilization. The arrangement of the paper into various subtopics and clear references makes it more readable. Furthermore, the writer uses simple English and word choice that enables it to be understood by a non-professional in natural resource utilization. Generally, the paper is well-done and written in basic scientific writing skills.
ABSTRACT of the paper
The concept of wise management and sustainability is important in natural resource management. Therefore, economic integration in natural resource management is important in achieving maximum utilization of natural resources. Proper evaluation of the natural resources facilitates effective resource utilization and proper management of natural resource management. This paper is important for the public policymakers as it guides their use of maximum utilization of natural resources.
