#2: Editing Exercise
I have acknowledge that the success of an organization largely depends on the performance of its people. I am sure that all of you are doing the best that you can in undertaking your responsibilities towards the achievement of organizational goals. However, it has come to my attention that there are some personal problems that need to be dealt with right away.
I have been reading some articles in The Wall Street Journal about how some companies and employees apparently do not work as efficiently as potentially possible to maximize their performance levels. As disclosed, part of the problem lies in the inability to effectively communicate with each other which apparently results in failure to achieve identified goals. Accordingly, failure to practice open communication along the organizational hierarchy also inevitably leads to misunderstand their roles in the company and the contributions they can ultimately make.
Upon assessment of the current performance levels of all employees, my findings revealed that there is much room for improvement. For one, there is a need to clearly establish and communicate the mission and objectives of the company. Likewise, it is also crucial to specifically identify the expectations and standards of performance that each employee should undertake. In this regard, I have designed a new company mission and job expectation statement that will take effect next week. As such, these statements would be communicated and disseminated to all employees before the end of next week for comprehensive understanding.
On the part of the employees, each and every one is enjoined to improve on their levels of performance by ensuring that all responsibilities noted in your respective job descriptions are appropriately and effectively undertaken. Your level of efficiency towards facilitating the attainment of identified goals would be crucial to the organization’s success.
Our policies on rewards for exemplary performance would definitely be observed and implemented. Likewise, any violations of these policies that would be deemed detrimental to the performance of your responsibilities would also be dealt with according to the sanctions noted therein.
