Art is conceptual because of its cognitive aspect. It encourages people to use their minds instead of their eyes. Art has many categories. Some of these categories include; romance, paradox, and systems; which I chose for my presentation. Romance Art is a form of visual arts, which originated from the romantic period. It followed an intellectual, literary, and artistic movement, which originated from Europe. Paradox art is considered conceptual art because it has a sensory aspect compared to conventional art. In Paradox art, the artist makes decisions and plans beforehand. This means that this kind of art is influenced by the artist’s thoughts. The systems theory and cybernetics have both influenced systems art. System art is based on social systems and natural systems. This form of art focuses on the various aspects of the art world. During the initial stages of conceptual art, systems art developed. Systems art continued up to the 1960’s and 1970’s. It is vital that elements which exist in different art forms be known. It is also important to know how the artist relays the art on a material. In the next paragraphs, I will talk about six artists from these categories. This would help to substantiate my claims.
In conclusion, I chose these artists because of their artworks and not necessarily their entire careers. I found that some of their artworks were beautiful and made sensible. I am going to illustrate these aspects in my presentation. Concisely, these artists have greatly contributed towards modern art forms, which originate from past centuries.
