The article is presented by Roberts as a guide to achieving universal university education integration of video education and other products of technology into classroom work. The article at the beginning presents the Aristophanes complain of thinkers and universities have lagged behind leaving students with less practical skills. Several researches for instance the Coursera have been conducted in reference to what scholars consider as detrimental gap between what is going into university in terms of resources and its results (Roberts, 2013).
The article reports on the joining of Coursera by nine US universities with an aim of providing visionary education via video and the current digital technology. Digital platforms are key to teaching students critical thinking skills development; this is enhanced by the facts that digital technology use in education is interactive and more engaging.
Online education being supported by video conferencing gives students an opportunity to decide and pursue career paths of their own choice. This involves the decision on what and how they want to pursue their education. The decision is made ease by existing opportunity of students to purchase individual courses via iTunes-like portals having designs ranging from multi-layered affairs with online visual lectures, chat sessions and interactive video and non-video tutorials (Roberts, 2013).
