Part 1: Word Cloud
In this assignment the word cloud demonstrates characteristics of the 21st century teacher and learner. Other relevant stakeholders will be included. This device visualizes keywords’ distribution frequency stored in a metadata base that describes a website content. It serves as a navigation guide to facilitate access and interpretation of the content (Bromley,2013). The website content highlighted in this word cloud is the partnership for twenty first century skills. Three features will be addressed. They are:
Twenty-first century student outcomes
Twenty first century student’s support systems
Technology use in education by various stakeholders
Word cloud text
Partnership for the 21st century is now four years old since its first program implementation. The student outcomes are ambitious depending on the type of program being promoted. Their website contains various features including an about us tab, our w
ork, members and states, exemplar schools, along with application techniques including relevant innovations. Any preK to 12 grade school is eligible to participate in these programs. Skills expected to be demonstrated encompass critical thinking, civic, health, environmental and technology literacy, creativity and life skills (P21 Partnership for 21st Century Learning, 2016).
The support systems are partnerships, which include Pearson Foundation responsible for funding. Education networks of America, Enriching lives building tomorrow, Crayola, Playword and Apple international are some Stake holders in this venture (P21 Partnership for 21st Century Learning, 2016).
Part 2: LiveBinder
Considerations for this LiveBinder Mission statement to:
The differences between technology use and technology integration.
This relates to creating tasks whereby students can use computers, iPad or tablets for learning experiences. With integrated technology computers are utilized in enhancing the learning experience after other tools/methods are applied (Eady, Lockyer, 2013).
The role of State and National standards and organization when integrating technology with curriculum is designating features of a technological devices, which are appropriate or detrimental to a teaching learning experiences. They also regulate specific methods teachers must use when implementing technology in classroom instruction
Methods for integrating technology into content standards go beyond the physical presence of computers in a classroom environment. It means using computers to teach a lesson. This must be done during instruction content delivery. Other teaching methods are using the discovery learning technique allowing students to explore the technology itself through self-intuitive learning (Eady, Lockyer, 2013)..
Description of digital and media literacies relate to understanding and exhibiting the ability to operate a computer in accessing the internet/email, apply the relevant techniques in making a call on a touch screen cell phone as well as navigating features of an iPad/iPhone/tablet. Incorporating the media perspective is exposing students towards interpreting fallacies communicated in news reports along with distorted data. Students must learn how to decipher truth from propaganda when information is fed to them (Eady, Lockyer, 2013).
After reflecting on these pertinent issues which must be addressed in this twenty- first technological teaching/learning experiences.
Mission Statement
It is my desire as a participant in this P21 initiative to be a vehicle through which as an educator teaching and learning needs, particularly in media and technology be satisfied to the extent of ultimately reflecting by becoming visible within educational sectors, business entities, communities and political leaders; learners thereby acquiring relevant knowledge as well as skills needed to develop in a global community that makes chane inevitable in the presence of modernization and social change.
