In my emergency binder, I would include a copy of my birth certificate and driver’s license. In addition to that, I would include my health insurance coverage card, and organ donor card and healthcare proxy. After I graduate, I will include social security card in my emergency binder. This is mainly for tax purposes. After getting married, it is important to have my marriage certificate in my binder. I will also place credit cards with account passwords for my next of kin. I would include the mortgage records in my binder in case my spouse and I bought a house with a mortgage loan. After getting married, I would also place a legal power of attorney in my emergency binder. In addition to this, I would also include all my tax returns in my emergency binder.
If I have children, I would include a living will in my emergency binder. I would include a safe deposit box, a key with the names of the people that would have access to it, stocks, bonds, real estate as well as other investments. I would also include my life insurance policy in my emergency binder. In addition to these, I would include receipts and appraisals for valuables.
A binder may contain very sensitive information; itis, therefore, crucial to keep it in a safe and secure location. To ensure safety, a binder can be placed in a lock box or a fireproof safe. Despite the dangers that come with storing documents online, I would consider placing my binder on the internet. To ensure privacy, I would use a coding language that I can always recall. In the case of an emergency, I would tell my spouse of the existence of my binder. I would also inform my first born child depending on how old he would be .
