Test Results
The results are categorized as strengths, potential strengths and limitation. Therefore, let me begin with the strengths.
Strengths.
- His approach to problem solving is conducive to resolution.
- He shows resilience or hardiness.
- He is driven towards further self development.
- He is able to let go or rise above minor issues.
- He has a healthy level of self esteem.
- He seems to be quite content.
Potential Strength.
- He seems not to ruminate excessively which is good. He also seems not to give things sufficient thought.
- His mindset is moderately positive.
- He is doing reasonably well in the area of emotional management.
- His coping skills are satisfactorily.
- He is able to act independently sometimes.
Limitations
- His overall emotional IQ needs improvements.
- He needs improvements in the area of emotional identification, perception and expression.
- His emotional self-awareness is limited.
- He doesn’t seem to be entirely aware of his strengths and weaknesses.
- He is not very comfortable with emotions in general.
- He struggled with recognizing emotions depicted in the test.
- He needs improvements in the area of emotional facilitation of thought.
- He doesn’t make it a point to act in accordance with his values.
- He needs improvement in the area of emotional understanding.
- He struggled with the emotional integration aspect of the test.
- He did not always choose the most ideal form of resolution for others conflict situations on the test.
- His ability to empathize needs improvement.
- His social insight ability is limited.
- His impulse control needs improvement.
- He is not very self motivated.
- He has difficulties in adapting his social skills to the circumstances around him.
- His manner in which he could have resolved the conflict situations on the test was not always the most beneficial.
- He is not very assertive
- His flexibility is limited.
Description of my experience with the test.
The experience of the author with the test shows that he has great strengths in his approach to solving problems. He also has healthy level of self esteem. However, despite having certain strengths and the potential strengths, the results also indicate that the author have certain limitations in certain areas such as emotional self-awareness, self-control needs, emotional facilitation of thought, recognizing emotions among others. This indicate that the author have average experience with the test and should struggle to correct on the weaknesses identified so far.
Explanation of emotional intelligence
Emotional intelligence is the ability of an individual to validly reason about the emotions and also to use his/her emotions to enhance thought. Some of the examples of emotional intelligence include the ability to recognize and manage individuals’ emotions, being able to recognize and deal with the other people’s emotions and finally being able to motivate one and to successfully maintain relationships. The theory of emotional development was first put forward by Peter Salovey and John Mayer. Wharam (2009).
Importance of emotional intelligent
It equips an individual with the skill of perceiving, understanding and to effectively and efficiently manage emotions such as anger, anxiety, optimism, humor sadness happiness among others. Blell (2011).
Ways through which one can enhance their emotional intelligence
One can enhance their emotional intelligence through being able to stay cool while under pressure, being able to read social cues, being able to be assertive and to express difficult emotions when necessary and to be able to express intimate emotions in a close and personal relationships. Individual who apply the above outlined techniques will be able to enhance his emotional intelligence. Blell (2011).
