Question 3 “Slowed to a Crawl”
The core mission of the outreach program is to serve the needy people. It works on the donations that people make to Kent Medical. The new website has boosted the donations, but hindered the department to perform its core function. People from South America and Africa are facing problems in filling the request forms for help. If they switch to the old website, their purpose of serving humanity will be fulfilled, but at the cost of large donations and if they continue with the current website, they are not able to serve. In my view, they should not sacrifice their core mission and should switch back to old website. There is one more solution to the problem. They should location based services for their websites. Forinstance, MSN, Yahoo, Google, etc all of them kept on preserving new website looks after a period of time continuously. The purpose is to discarde the old website looks and to reposition it in the mind of the individuals. The facebook is also an example of one of them.
In areas of South America and Africa, where internet connections are slow, and technology is old, their old website should be displayed. In the case of slow or dial-up connections, basic html version of the website should be displayed. This technology is already in use by Google for their mail accounts. In this way, the up to date computers with high speed connections will be able to display their new, interactive website while slow computers with slow internet connection will display a basic version of the website. In this way, the problem of donations as well as outreach to disparity areas will be solved.
