Arguably, the United States needs a realistic and consistent approach on issues pertaining to energy. As a matter of fact, the price of acquiring energy continues to rise, which in return hurts the people. One of the main debatable issues in the United States is about energy. There are many opinions and approaches that has been raised on whether to drill oil or not to. Others assert that the best way is to reduce dependence on oil and focus on establishing alternative sources of energy. On the other hand, others vies that this approach is very expensive. Certainly, is believed the best solution to this problem is that the country should focus on investing in renewable resources and reduce dependence on oil (Geri & McNabb, 2011). This implies that drilling is not an option. Some of these renewable resources to be focused on include solar power and wind.
One of the main reasons for not drilling oil is the fact that oil leads to global warming. It is worth noting that one of the main issues in the world today is climate change and global warming. Using oil as a source of energy worsens the problem. Therefore, using renewable energy is the best since it means conserving the environment (Geri & McNabb, 2011). The greedy companies and individuals who are for drilling are putting the lives and health of the people in the United States at a risk. Perhaps, health issues will demand other extra dollars in order to solve the problem.
The focus on the renewable resource is very expensive and this could be the main factor hindering its implementation. The shift to renewable resources will call for more resources on research and implementation. In addition, the issue of stereotype, intellectual, emotional, and cultural factors is the habits and blocks that affect my opinion. Basically, the fear of failing to make my opinion successful is a block to this issue (Geri & McNabb, 2011). In addition, culturally individuals are growing up knowing that environment is very important, but the stereotype thinking is a barrier towards achieving the reality. In order to overcome the blocks and habits that affect my thinking, doing extensive research is the best option. Also, thinking critically and analyzing the issue in a professional manner is a solution to overcome the blocks. Emotionally, the fact that I understand the importance of environments cleanness and conservation is a solution towards fear of failing.
