Integrating expert technology in machines that are used for assembly lines
Assembly line is a technology that has been in existence in factories which have been used to produce products in large scale. This technology was introduced by Henry Ford.
It has been used to enhance mass production of items in a manufacturing plant. This technology has been used in manufacturing products that have many components which are supposed to work together. One problem that has been experienced with the use of this technology is that there is lack of coordination between the machines that are working in the assembly line. There is a lack of intelligence in the working of the machines because they lack coordination. This research will propose an improvement to the assembly line where there will be the use of expert technology in the machines so that there is some intelligence in the machines. This will enhance the sensitivity of the machines in the assembly line so that they are able to adjust to the changes that are introduced to the assembly line. This will enhance the performance of the assembly line so that there will be no need to change any component in the assembly line of there is a need to have the changes integrated.
Assembly line machines have been working without any form of communication and coordination. There is a need to ensure that there is integration of communication between the machines that are working in the assembly line; this is easily achieved with the use of expert systems which will enable the machines to detect that a new machine has been added to the system. They will adjust to the new changes.
