Ero-Samurai: An Obsessed Man's Loving Tribute to Japanese Women is written by David Duff. In this book, the author enlightens the reader’s mind by telling the gripping story of love, sexual desire, romantic accounts, sex and Japanese women. In fact, "Ero-Samurai" tries to find the answer to a longstanding question i.e. “what makes Japanese women so attractive and desirable?."
The erotic prose in Duff’s work gives the reader absolute pleasure and makes one admire the colorfulness and expressiveness. It can be said that Japanese women are represented as possessors of genuine magnetism and charisma that makes them intensely attractive. This book attempts to contribute to some insight why Japanese women are considered so special by Western men. Duff has done well in accomplishing this haughty task. A number of authors have written on this topic, but they have not been able to tackle the subject as boldly as done by Duff. Although the book does not fit the general literary standards, it presents a deeply personal journey as well as quotes from classical Japanese literature. Duff has done an exceptional work by delving into the Japanese culture, women and the beauty they possess. Duff is truly a natural, obsessed and passionate warrior as he represents himself as a beauty-lover and combats with his desires for Japanese women. He openly tells his readers how Japanese women’s black hair, complexion and round eyes are irresistible to him. Duff notes that Japanese women are attractive as they are the controllers of Japan’s life by considering them as “elegant, ladylike, and imposing they are; obedient they aren't," (Duff, 2005).
On the other hand, many criticize Ero-Samurai: An Obsessed Man's Loving Tribute to Japanese Women as too erotically exhilarating. As far as my opinion is concerned, I think there was a lot in this book that needed editing. To cut a long story short, Duff’s non-fiction is recommended to those who cannot resist beauty and romance.
