Description of Proposed Products or Services
For many decades, Pizza operators have tried to influence this competitive market share through variety, value and even by reducing prices, nonetheless, the pizza segment business, which is part of the overall quick-service market, has not recorded a significant increase (Dissanayake, 2013, p.127). It is from this fact that an entrepreneurial idea of a non-pizza operators emerged; the drive thru. This paper will expound on the description of the products and services at a drive-thru pizza restaurant, which is our team’s proposed project.
Our drive-thru pizza restaurant entails an instant service system whereby, the customers drive up to the restaurant, order, pay and leave in few minutes possible. Our services will stand out from our competitors solely because of speed and quality. The premise of this entrepreneurial proposal is pretty simple: customers who want extremely rapid services can drive up to the restaurant especially between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., then they can order from a limited menu of 4 pizzas, be served and cruise away in only 2 minutes. This exceptionally quick-model is made possible because of our strategy on pre-baking and holding the pizzas in warming cabinets so that when a customer comes, our products will be ready in advance for sale. However, so as to maintain our high levels of quality products, the pizzas that will remain in the warming cabinet for more than an hour will be crashed. According to an article authored by renowned chef Devin Alexander, pizza quality is normally managed using the aspect of tight pars, and, therefore, holding time is mostly lower than pizza delivered which might remain in a heated bag (Alexander, 2006).
It is our anticipation that more than half of our services and products will be ordered straight from our express system, other customers will order from the broader menu, while some of them will also not mind waiting. This project will ensure utmost convenience to our customers, bearing in mind that most of them even never want to get out of the car, thus just ordering through the drive-thru window (Henkel, & Brown, 2007, p.17).
