The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit brought together leaders from across the Arab states to discuss matters that are in to prosperity of the member states. The summit was geared to spark integration on security, foreign policy, as well as economic growth among member states. Therefore, the member states came together to set policies on how they can realize complete integration during the 34th, 35th, and 36th Summit. The supreme Council of the GCC started by endorsing a number of rules that will bring integration of financial markets to all member states (SUSRIS.com, 2016).
The member states begun by reviewing some of the key agenda that led to the formation of GCC. Firstly the members started by discussing about the security and water projects. The Summit came into agreement that they should foster long-term plans they will ensure that every state has access to water supply. In addition, their members agreed that security was a major concern that can drive the Arab countries into economic success. The members agreed to form a joint market that will ensure that citizens can be able freely conduct their business with no barriers. It was during the GCC that leaders agreed to start the Gulf railway project that should be operational by the year 2018 (SUSRIS.com, 2016).
Also, the leaders made an agreement to start a joint police and military command. The Supreme Council made a ruling for creation of the joint military and assigned the Joint Defense Council to come up will necessary measures in accordance to relevant studies. Looking into the agreements that were made during the summit, there has been integration of security, foreign policy as well as economic integration. Now citizens from member countries can do business anywhere without experiencing many legal challenges. Besides, the GCC has sparked a number of infrastructure developments like the Gulf railways that will enhance economic growth to member countries.
