After much reflection, I have concluded that the ideal career for me would be an occupation in healthcare management. Having taken the MGT-521 course will help me attain my goal. A career in healthcare management comprises many responsibilities, including the coordination and direction of the delivery of medical care and healthcare services. Other responsibilities include recordkeeping, financial management, as well as communications with other medical professionals. A big part of a healthcare management career is quality and efficiency improvement, things I have learned in the course.
I also learned how to conduct a SWOT analysis, an evaluation of four aspects of an organization. Other aspects of the course have included how to differentiate between leadership theories. Through the course's exercises, I have strengthened my critical thinking and communication skills, attributes which I hope will carry me far in healthcare management. I have come to enjoy communicating with people, and I know I will enjoy interfacing with other professionals. I have a very positive attitude which rubs off onto other people, another personality trait that will help in the area of team leadership -- an area of focus in MGT-521.
I am very oriented in the direction of healthcare. This is where my goal lies, and I desire a profession as a healthcare administrator, in particular. I realize that I have always been a people person, one who is deeply concerned about helping solve other people's problems, as well as being around people. MGT-521 has strengthened and improved my natural inclinations, and has also helped hone my ability to understand ethical decision-making. The healthcare management field is a natural career progression that will fulfill my potential. Another one of my natural attributes is innovative thinking, another factor that will help improve both the quality and efficiency of healthcare administration wherever I may work. Overall, MGT-521 has helped me refine the skills I will need in my chosen profession of healthcare administration.
