Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be required to remain within a special team in New York and will be required to report directly to the Business Manager. The team is widely known to be a ‘think tank unit’ which provides direct support to senior managers in case of their strategic initiatives. The incumbent will be expected to become a key member of the special team and support the Corporate Portfolio Management (CPM) Business Manager and Global Capital Management (GCM) and Treasury (T) seniors.
Apart from the above mentioned job description, the selected incumbent will be required to assume following responsibilities:
- Own and manage data related to internal financial metrics (such as client revenue, investment returns and risk exposure etc). He should also come up with a detailed analysis on numerous topics related to returns made available to a client, business performance, regulatory related reporting, limit management as well as make internal strategy presentations etc.
- Play an active role and contribute in completion of specialized projects to analyze various discussions at the ICG- CRGC (Client Returns Governance Committee) such as LGD analysis and Obligor Rating Scorecards trends etc.
- Own and manage efficiently all business processes of management reporting which includes Red-Zone client exposure, Performance versus Promise etc.
- Must support and contribute to the development of new market intelligence with regards to Syndicated Loans and Debt Capital Markets.
- Prepare and compile presentations for CIB (Corporate and Investment Banking) Treasurer and the Corporate Portfolio Management (CPM) Business Manager.
Minimum Requirements to Assume the Position
Skills Needed
- Must have strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Must be well-versed and have experience of data handling in MS Excel and ability to deal with multiple systems to develop, analyze and propose a feasible course of action.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Result oriented candidate who could exhibit a higher degree of flexibility, able to display multi-tasking skills, work autonomously and set specific work priorities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Technical Skills or Competencies
- Proficiency in MS-Office applications; particular display of intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft-Excel skills. Must display beginner to intermediate skills in case of Microsoft-PowerPoint and Access.
- Must be Knowledgeable about internal client returns and financial metrics as well as systems like CIW, Optima, PEARL, Backbone, CIS Business Objects etc which is highly desirable for the current position.
- Knowledge about different market data systems (e.g. Factset, Dealogic, and Bloomberg) is a plus for selection but currently not needed.
- Should value and appreciate diverse workforce as well as differences in working style or perspective. The selected candidate must be able to use such differences to add value to decision making/actions and business success.
Qualifications
- Candidates having a relevant education (including undergraduate degree to major in business, sciences, IT math or economics and qualified accountants) are preferred.
- The candidate selected for this job should have experience within Citi (of minimum two years) but candidates, suitable to this position, with lesser experience would be considered for hiring.
- Exceptional candidates not meeting the above criteria may also be given a low priority where the most critical factor would be an enthusiasm to learn more and the drive to outshine in the corporate ladder.

The reason behind such confidence is that, being an undergraduate who intends to major in finance, I am able to apply all of the basic concepts which I have learned academically. I have found that I reserve the quality of a good business analyst who is able to find answers to questions and solutions to answers whenever they come across any issue and do not wait for solutions to come to their doorstep .
As a problem solver and critical thinker, I am able to communicate my ideas with clarity while avoiding any form of ambiguity and exaggeration which is necessary for an effective interpersonal communication. I am a technological savvy who can spot and use advanced applications that could help to bring in efficiency and compiles as well as analyzes data within no time. Apart from having decision making and managerial skills, I have the ability to negotiate, and sometimes, persuade, business clients effectively .
Apart from these qualities, I am able to examine the current situation and determine any problem the business may be facing. I exactly know how to structure a given business problem and ways in which it could be dealt with. For an effective team management, I have a unique ability to keep every member involved in the completion of a given task. I am eager to learn new concepts, face challenges and can work autonomously without any difficulty .
