Cause and effect the internet has on children up to age 14
It is evident that the 21st century is characterized with advanced technology. In fact, it has been termed as the century of the digital age. The cause of this technological advancement is that there is high innovation current generation. Innovation leads to various discoveries in hardware and software to equip human life with the necessary environment in the quest for making work easier. In this case, innovation has led to the discovery of the internet among other online social and professional platform for human interaction. As such, people from different societies, as well as the young and the old, utilize the internet in as a daily routine to facilitate their engagement. For example, Teachers use the Internet to facilitate learning for children. It has become a tendency that in every class today is technologically enhanced.
For children up to the age of 14 years, it is evident that effect of the internet can be put into two categories; that is positive and negative effects. In a positive manner, the internet has enhanced creativity in class. Children become conversant with internet platform that they are able to discover new things at a very young age as opposed to the olden days. Also, the internet has equipped children individual skills in communication and problem-solving techniques. On the negative effect, young children spend much time on the internet. This reduces their time to interact with other people physically leading to a poor social life in their entire lifespan. The internet is also a platform where a lot of immoral content is found. For example, pornographic materials expose children lack ethical principles. Therefore, although the internet is one of the signs of human development, it has come with a price to the young generation.
