The article written by Ed Daunte clearly demonstrates the act of cheating done by learners in many institutions today. As he explains, cheating has become a very great challenge to the education system today. Many learners have adopted it. In fact, it has become popular with many of them because of the perception that it is a normal educational practice.
As a student, I would like to point out that andragogical learning has a due regard for cheating. As an adult education teaching strategy, andragogical is so much concerned about the behaviors of learners. It promotes practical learning which is quite instrumental in controlling the possibilities of cheatings by the learners. The strategies adopted by this approach make it better for learners to engage in serious learning without involving malpractices such as cheating.
As a student, I would like to say that cheating is unethical academic practice which should not be condoned by the teachers. As this author explains, cheating is not good because it dilutes the quality of learning. It makes it inadequately accomplish its goals of enlightening the learners and equipping them with the necessary information required by them. It should be avoided by all the learners because it has no long term benefits to them. I think that it can not enable them to realize the real meaning of learning. I would like to suggest that the education system should be not examinations oriented. Instead, other methods should be used in the evaluation of learners. This will make them view examinations not as an integral and prerequisite requirement for success. This will essentially influence their attitudes.
