Cloning refers to the process of replicating living cells, organs or cells in either human or animals to enable them have a prolonged life. Xenotransplantation is transplanting xenotransplants (cells, or organs or tissues) from one species to another (Joo, 2014). In a situation where my loved one requires an organ like kidney, liver, or heart, then I will choice to accept the replica of the same organ. Since a cloned organ work the same way as the original then, the medical professionals will do the work of xenotransplantation so that the patient regain an ordinary life.
With the emergence of new technology, cloning is right because of the benefits that come with it and people must be educated about the positive effects of this type of technology.
Cloning is of great beneficial in terms of finding cures for diseases such as leukemia, spinal cord injury and medical research to enhance doctors’ and scientists. First, cloning can be used in reversing heart attack, producing genetic therapy to counter cystic fibroids, and also curing cancer. Second is the availability of human beings created by doctors and researchers so as to relieve the normal living human from donating their organs.
Besides the benefits of human cloning, it is also associated with some disadvantages. First, it will affect the sense of an individuality in which people hold on thus affecting genetic variations. Secondly, human cloning will negatively affect our psychology and society as a whole. Thirdly, since cloning is artificially developed, they can not be considered in terms of citizenship, leading to mistreating and neglected (Winston & Edelbach, 2014). In today’s era, cloning can be used to develop dead cells especially for burned skin hence propagating healing. In addition, cloning has become a living hope for the infertile in society as they can be in a position to have children.
Stem cell transplant is a vital technology because they can be used in therapies, for example, bone marrow transplants, leading to the development of new cells (Trounson, 2013). On the other hand, its’ disadvantage is that the new transplant may not match with the old cells, and can be detected as foreign thus, leading to more harm than benefits. In conclusion, human cloning has advantages and disadvantages that impact the community. If only researchers can enlighten the community as a whole, then they will be in a position to appreciate cloning as a solution to most of the problems facing them.
