Writing Resources
Most academic and research writing rely on the work and ideas of other people. In IEEE, it is required that these materials used for writing academic or research paper must be cited in the work. The in text citation involved square bracket showing the relevancy of reference. The citations are given numbers in the text consecutively [4] to show the writing resources used.
There are various writing resources that are used in academic and research writings. These include books, online resources like blogs and eBooks, journals, newspapers and magazines. The quality of the paper written will depends on the writer’s intensive research on the topic, grammar, punctuation, and referencing [2]. The online resources provide most material used in writings. It provides perfect information for engineering project, academic and research writing. The writing resource is first broke into sections that are related to the project. The purpose and scope of the writing material should be related to the topic under research to reduce the issue of being irrelevant. The outline of the writing resource should be reviewed thoroughly to make sure that ideas in it are conclusive. Apart from online writing resources, other publications related to the topic in the study can also be considered as long as the materials do not duplicate the work already available [1].
In conclusion, academic, project and report writing requires references. The reference provides, depending on referencing style, the author of the work cited in the work, year of publication of the book, country and year of publication, and the publisher of the book. This is importance to avoid the issue of plagiarism because any work cited in the text should be provided in the referencing list [3]. The reference should relate to the project it will provides the most updates related to the project. For instance, the book “Engineering Design" by Dieter” gives the guideline on design process, and approaches in presenting design tools and techniques.
