Early European contact in Asia and Africa were mainly due to the efforts of explorers. The European explorers were travelling the sea in order to explore new land. The explorations resulted in the realization new land in the areas of Africa and Asia. The explorers in the process drew maps that could show the world at a glance some claiming recognition for the discovery of some certain parts of the world. Through exploration, the Europeans were in a position to that there exists some certain land and people; this eventually led to the formation of trade relationships as the people began interact. Through explorations, these eventually led to the formation of trade ties and interactions between the Europeans and Asians/Africans, leading to colonialism to both Asia and Africa.
There exists a connection between the colonialism of Asia and that of Africa. Asia was colonialized first by the Europeans as their lands are nearer as compared to those of the Africans. There was a struggle for as to who will colonize these among the European countries such as United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal. The power struggle resulted in many wars among them; some say this was a major contribution of the First World War.
In conclusion, there is a direct relationship between the colonization of the Asian countries and those of the African countries. The colonization of the African region was because of the spillover effects of the Asian countries being colonized. The Europeans on Indian Ocean and The Pacific triggered all this through the explorations. Through explorations, these eventually led to the formation of trade ties and interactions between the Europeans and Asians/Africans, leading to colonialism to both Asia and Africa.
