Introduction
Endangered languages are languages that were ones in used but are currently is the risk of being Out dated due to the shift of using second language as the preferred language. This is the case close to over 1000 languages globally. Endanger languages have a rich cultural value that if preserved the world can earn something out of it. That is, socially or economically. Endangered languages are languages that face numerous threats due to modernization and according to statistics, there are over 500% languages that will not be in existence in 2030. There are a number of organizations that are leading in reviving the use of the languages, some of them UNESCO and Lisbet Rausing Charitable Fund and the Volkswagen foundation. There is a need to revive this language and save the culture associated with these language speakers.
However, there is still hope of reviving these languages and there are preventive measures that can be taken. One of the most obvious methods is to encourage young people the need to speak the need to speak this language so in the future they can teach their children. This will help keep the trend of speaking this language going on. Adding to this, the internet can be used to preserve these languages from being extinct. If the internet providers opened up a chance for any language to use on the internet, this would be an easy way of minimizing the number of people seeking to learn another language in order to be able to communicate or acquire information in the internet. If information written on the internet is made available in any spoken language, modern generation can embrace the need of using their origin language because there will be no obstacle of learning another language. Adding to this, the internet can be used to raise an awareness campaign on the need of embracing our mother language to each and every visitor who uses the internet. The campaign should be aimed at the need of preserving these specific languages that have been listed to be at the risk of being extinct in the future. Anybody who uses the internet from the location where these languages is used, should find the option of using that particular language while browsing
In addition, technology can be used to preserve these languages facing the risk of being extinct. Recordings can be used to preserve individuals speaking these languages in either audio or visual form in order this to serve as not only as evidence but also to used to teach other people how to speak these languages. Using written documents to preserve these languages should also be embraced.
Endangered languages need to be revived and saved from disappearing from the face of the earth since their key roles in the society could not be assessed, especially in the essence of trying to know their key role in the religious aspects and cultural practices. Language is a form of communication. Various bodies have tried their best to save the endangered of this minor language by buying huge amounts of money in an attempt of saving and preserving the language, about 40 million are paid by the groups such as Lisbet Rausing charitable funds, UNESCO and Volkswagen. The people relied upon in the saving of the language tend to be densely populated they entail ethno-linguistic minorities in the society.
The techniques utilized by these groups in their implementation and salvaging the languages from disappearing for instance the language Hawaiian, Weish and gothic are among the endangered language. The significance of language in the world is cherished a lot since it enhances the essence of communication and gives a mode of relating well with fellow human beings. In order to implement the strategies set to preserve the existence and continual of the language, various techniques need to be adopted and adhered to since such languages are in some way paramount and essential to perform the task. For example, start out a center that would provide the services needed for example the offering the pedagogical training and basic linguistic. This can be done so as recommended by the UNESCO which is a non-profit company and seeks to coordinate, train some teachers on spoken and written skills about the endangered language, and need to consider the kind of techniques, curriculum development and the teaching development materials that are necessary and essential.
Language is a paramount element in the human race, it has a great impact if a language is extinct since no one could trace it and the people related to the language would lack identify in trying to define them or highlight their cultural practices and religious believes. It is important to salvage any language that is heading to extinction by setting up strategies and techniques to correct and keep it alive and in use in the society. The government should also fund programs aimed at reviving this language. This will be a great way to boost these programs in order for the languages to exist in the future.
