Elements used to develop an enterprise telecommunications financial plan
A clear picture of the financial need of a telecommunication enterprise need to be understood well before the project is begun. Even after the successful implementation of the enterprise, there is need to plan for maintenance of the facilities in place. Hardware tends to lose its value at a fast rate as time goes by and therefore an ultimate overhaul of the entire system will eventually be needed.
Elements that form part of a telecommunication system are the basic elements that are needed for planning. These elements include computers and telephone sets. Different types of computers with different capabilities might be needed, therefore it is important to identify all the types that are needed. Others include Ethernet cables, routers, servers, switches, and much other equipment necessary in the realization of a physical networked environment. There is also need to plan for tools that will be used for the deployment of these elements.
In order to get a clear picture of the financial need for the acquiring of all these elements, there is need to transform the said elements into money by costing them. The operating budget can be forecasted this way. Human resource is also another element that is important in the realization of financial planning. Energy is needed for the implementation of enterprise activities; the same energy must be compensated. Estimation therefore is done to determine the amount needed for energy compensation.
There is likely that future expenses would occur in the enterprise, planning therefore must consider these expenses. An LCA approach can be used to convert upcoming expenditure to current money base in order to get a clear picture of life cycle expenses.
