Ethics Plan
An ethical policy is an important in ensuring that all employees in an organization comply with the organization’s ethical and legal standards. Every organization has its own ethics which should be adhered to by all people who associate with the company. An ethical policy is important in providing a guideline on the right way for the business to carry out its day to day activities. The ethical policy outlines the ethical conduct of employees when dealing with clients, customers, business partners, fellow employees and the communities they serve in a way of integrity. Therefore, an ethical policy outlines the values and culture of the organization and helps in ensuring that ethics are fully integrated into the company’s systems and methods. This will help retain employees and strengthen the business relationships which are important for success and integrity of the business.
NANA JEWELRY COMPANY ETHICS POLICY
Nana Jewelry upholds a set of policies that provide guidance to its employees with respect to a set standard of conduct that is descent and expected. This is aimed at avoiding improper conduct that can tarnish our company’s repute. Therefore, ethical conduct is a central aspect of the company’s business. The company ethical policy requires that all business practices and the management are handled with high ethical conduct levels.
Gifts from vendors
The company prohibits its employees from receiving gifts from vendors within its premises. Receiving rewards from vendors is regarded as something personal which affects other employees who do not receive such gifts from vendors. More so, it is unprofessional for employees to entertain such characters which are unprofessional. Gifts from vendors may lead to some employees asking for gifts from clients and vendors, furthermore, it portrays the company in bad image as having unprofessional employees.
Confidential information
Nana Jewelry operates in a competitive environment where information confidentiality is important. The company’s marketing and sales strategies are treated as confidential information. The employees are prohibited from leaking confidential information to non-employees of Nana Jewelry. However, the confidential information should be available to all those employees in the company who need to use it for the company’s benefit. Only those individuals who are in charge of this information should store and manage it, unless in their absence someone else is given the task of handling the information.
Conflicts of Interest
The company strictly requires its employees to put the company’s interests before any personal or group interests. Any kind of conflict of interest among employees is likely to affect their ethical conduct and public perception. Employees are required to be as professional as possible, respecting their job, their colleagues and upholding the company’s interest and repute.
Administrative Ethics Committee
The company shall have an ethics committee made up of its top management and employees. This committee will be responsible as an advisory body on issues to do with ethics policies. It will also be a disciplinary body for those employees who will break the rules of the company’s ethic policy. The committee will be meeting whenever they are required to meet.
