Introduction
Funding for schools and child care programs has a greater impact on the development of a toddler. It supports the child in many sectors including physical, motor, cognitive and affective development. Funding guarantees the child of quality care and this promises a bright and solid future since it ensures that the child is well nurtured on his early stages. On the process, the child improves on his language and learning development. This also brings to the surface the chance of all infants and toddlers to enjoy full potential that they have.
Funding the school and child care programs will promote the cognitive, language, social and the emotional development of a child. The child care center-based are intensive and of high quality and their interventions helps a child to benefit from early learning experiences. This has a great impact and a useful achievement as it helps a child to acquire learning skills, cognition and language development (Charlesworth 2011). A provider works hard to ensure that the children are familiar with verbal stimulation and by this they develop an environment where the school children will attain high levels of cognitive development.
The child care program plays a part in the motor skill development of a child. Through its establishment, the child nervous system will grow to full maturity. This helps a child to carry out complex actions and prevent any form of disability that can arise. The skills include the gross and fine motor skills; gross motor skills helps a child to properly walk, run, balance and coordinate well all the parts of the body. The child also makes equality movements in all their muscles, fine motor skills on the hand ensure that there is proper coordination in all the smaller muscles in a child (DeLoache & Gottlieb, 2000).
The quality cares that are provided through the child care programs enables a child to impose proper physical development. The development will present through the following pattern: large muscles starts to develop before the smaller ones, the center of the body region will develop before the outer parts develops and the development will move from the top down. This helps a child to co-ordinate his body movements and babies will learn how crawling take place (Boushel 2000).
In affective development, the child develops emotions and learns about relationships with the people around him. The care helps the child to love his parents, friends and teachers as he learns to communicate effectively with them. The child develops the bond with the family members and will grow appreciating the existence of the important people in his life.
Role of a child's cultural background in alignment with the child's development
The cultural backgrounds will present with different parental methods hence contributing in the development of a child in a different way. Cultures have developed a trait that is known as ethnotheories; commonly used to collect beliefs in unison from different cultural groups and they bring together development, and children behavior. The 'parental ethnotheories' are also consisted of the development in cognitive, social and emotional attachments. They comes from the parents and the child inherit them regarding on the cultures that the society that he comes from practices.
The beliefs and expectations that are constituted in a particular culture shape the childrearing methods and many other aspects that arise when the child is brought up. The child will be brought up in a particular physical and social setting and this contributes to the development in a certain way. The cultural background will determine the type of people in a certain household and the expectations that they are filled with (DeLoache & Gottlieb, 2000). There are cultures where the child is taken care of by the housemaids and this may be a disadvantage to a child as he will not create a strong emotional bond with his parents. Also, the households where polygamous husbands are found, it is known that the children will not have enough time to interact with their fathers therefore their emotional attachment weakens.
The type of feeding in a certain culture also contributes the development of a child in a particular way. The feeding practices will establish whether the child will grow health and strong both physically and mentally. The parents who decide to feed the children on their own increase the chances of a better survival and development compared to the ones that are fed by anybody in the family.
Discuss the overall impact the focus may have on the family
Funding for schools and child care programs will have an impact to the entire society and family at large. The poor families are helped since quality care is entitled to all therefore reducing the at risk incidences that may affect the poor families. The families also are confident that the future of their children will be bright since the care programs works for the benefits of the child. (Charlesworth 2011). Therefore, the society must fully support the implementation of the schools and child care programs. To conclude, the society will reap many benefits since the program will ensure a better health and education to their children thus eliminating the unwanted characteristics and behaviors in the society.
