In Panem exists its Capitol which is a city built as a fortress having the wealthy and powerful people of the nation residing and it is from this city that all the twelve districts are controlled. District 1 was the primary industry for the manufacture of luxury items for the Capitol, District 2 is where the peace keepers are trained and the manufacture and mining of graphite is undertaken, District 3 has it functions as one that specializes in television and explosives.
Whereas District 4 practices fishing, District 5 has its industry in power and generation of electricity; District 6 has it primary industry in making of transportation. The provision of lumber is aided by the industry in district 7 while district 8 is concentrated on the production of textile and clothing having district 9 the industry producing grains. Of the remaining districts 10, 11, and 12 they have their industries producing livestock, agricultural productions such as cotton and orchard, and the mining of coal respectively.
District 1
This is one of the wealthiest districts with the industry production focused on luxuries for the Capitol such as diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires. The natives of this district live glamorous lives and are depicted through the naming of their children and their pride in competing in the hunger games picking off weaker contestants known as Careers. Some of the jobs available in district one include; perfumer, furrier, goldsmith, jeweler, winemaker and hair stylist jobs.
District 2
This district is concentrated on Masonry and its where most weapons are manufactured and a home to most peacekeepers. It took from district 13 to start mining graphite and the jobs that are present include; stonemason, brick mason, bricklayer, blacksmith. This district is known of their attribute of being warriors and this is important preparation for their role as peacekeepers. It is to this district that the Capitol`s military command sought their base.
District 3
This district is specialized in technology and the production televisions and computers. The natives of this district live in poverty and they are rebellious. The jobs available in this area include; technical support, engineer, tester, and electric installation technician. Most of their inhabitants live around factories they work for because of their skills in engineering.
District 4
It is here that sea food lovers get to nourish them as the natives practice fishing. This being the wealthiest district is produces career tributes as they are born to win. The kids are born to commercialize their fishing driven economy due to their proximity to the sea.
District 5
Its concentration is on power and electricity and responsible of powering the whole nation. They have job opportunities in maintenance, equipment manager, geologist, and power plant security officer. This is the district with the smallest population and is because of the low turn-out of residents taking up tesserae
District 6
Their principle economy driver is transportation and they possess hovercrafts, high speed trains despite the citizen’s lack of love for the travel. They have an addiction to morphling which is a painkiller. During the second rebellion they were bombed by the Capitol`s air forces because of their rebellion.
District 7
It is a decorated district beautiful with trees as it is covered with large tracts of forest which also provides lumber and paper for its residence. It is a poorer district and its people are4 good with axes. This district has a dam by the district`s side.
District 8
Among the other twelve districts, this is the poorest of them all. It`s industry is concentrated in the production of textile and clothing. They have one factory for the particular tailoring of peacekeeper uniforms. The people here live in tenements and the region stinks of industrial fumes and lacks greenery. One of their major factories was bombed as talk of rebellion arose.
District 9
This district stands as the bread basket of Panem as they produce grain from their fertile harvest and has many factories that are suited for grain processing. They offer jobs such as; harvester, sower, farmer, and cropper.
District 10
This district is in charge of livestock and is responsible for the provision of beef to the Capitol. Despite this they are one of the poorest districts and most of their land is farmland. They offer opportunities like; butcher, ban manager, and rancher.
District 11
This district`s main focus is on agriculture as they produce orchards, wheat, and cotton for the Capitol. The citizens are not allowed to feed on the crops and the punishment if caught is whipping in public. The inhabitants have a darker skin tone as described in their physical traits.
District 12
It is the poorest district and is located in Appalachia with a population of about 8000 or more inhabitants and they focus their industry in the production of coal. After the second rebellion they switched to medicine.
