I am writing today to inform you of the necessity of a parent support room on my unit. I work on the NICU unit, where all my patients come with confused, attached, frightened parents. These parents have questions that cannot always be answered by my staff, whose first priority is to the infants in our care. We believe in a whole-family support system, which is why we believe a parent support room would supplement the information provided by our professional staff for parents who are searching for answers.
I understand cost is a factor in your decision, so I have advocated volunteers and researched associated costs with the installation and upgrade of the room. Please review the following list of expenditures, expected timeline, and volunteer days for your consideration:
Day One – Clearing and Hauling - $150.00
Day Two – Clearing and Hauling - $150.00
Day Three – Cleaning and Painting - $250.00
Day Four – Cleaning and Painting - $250
Day Five – Cleaning and Painting – Service provided for free by staff volunteers
Day Six – Restocking and Set-up - $150.00
Day Seven – Restocking and Set-up - $150.00
