I am applying for graduate admission into the Fall 2013 part time M.B.A. program with concentration in Information Technology. I will be graduating in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in MIS from UT Dallas. My interest in business has led me to understand that technology drives innovation and innovation drives the market. Blending these three to help our youth and making a difference in the community will be my goal once I graduate with a MBA from UT-Dallas.
Currently, I am director of new member orientation at the Richardson YMCA. Kids under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the facilities without completing an orientation from me. I take this responsibility very seriously and value the chance it gives me to be a mentor and a positive role model to our future generation. My goal is to create a viable sports program for our inner city youth at a competitive market price where I can teach, train, and develop North Texas youth into skilled basketball players. Growing up in a small under developed town in Oklahoma, my exposure was limited to basketball. I have made a lot of mistakes in life as well as overcame a lot of adversity. However, I take these as life lessons which have molded me greatly. My sincere wish to join the M.BA program at this institution is motivated by the fact that UT Dallas has the capacity to mold an individual’s career to great heights. I have learnt this through my experience. I transferred to UT Dallas as a junior and prior to the move I had never been tested or challenged academically or in anything else in life. This was reflected clearly in my first semester’s G.P.A.
The first semester’s results at UT Dallas were an indicator for me that I needed to do much more. This motivated me to work harder so as to improve my performance. Any positive gain acted as a launching pad to aim even higher. Every semester my grades and G.P.A. have risen. I attribute this to the dedicated and exemplary teaching style at UT Dallas which is all rounded. It not only focuses on the academic aspects of an individual but the development of a real professional. This greatly motivates me to continue with my academic endeavors at the institution. I, therefore, look forward to a positive consideration for admission into the part time M.B.A. program.
