The misery of human condition

Man in the middle ages did things that reflected their status at the time. Essentially, there were phenomena that occurred in different contexts that at times favored man and other times disfavored man. As a result, it dawned on the keen people that the man lived under some influence and control, which determined and controlled the things that took place in man’s surrounding. The calamities that befell man were seen as subjecting man to conditions that were difficult for life. The pope stressed the imminence of death and probability of damnation due to the observation that man seemed to act contrary to what was ethically acceptable and hence bore the consequences that mostly led to death and damnation. Man seemed not to have control of the phenomena that occurred around them. This is because man was disobedient to the creator and, therefore, could not attain the level of having the God given power to take control of some phenomena. However, when the pope looks at man in this perspective, it is clear that, man, under proper direction can undertake things that enhance their well-being. Man was created different from other creature and therefore unique in a special sense.

Man has been assigned responsibility for much of beings. This implies that a man has a higher and greater purpose for living. The nature of man is coupled with reflections concerning the abilities that man has which enable him to act in many capacities. Compared to angels, man is a little lower. This implies that the standard of man is unique among creatures in the world and, therefore, highly regarded in distinct ways. Therefore, the nature of man surpasses the ordinary beliefs that people have concerning man. Man has a special position in the universe, which he holds properly in order to maintain a balance concerning different phenomena.
