Public Health Workforce
The workforce in healthcare includes not only the medical staff as it is also viewed as an industry that provides a wide variety of jobs. On the other hand, many health care workers find jobs using different employment sites. The Internet offers various opportunities for health care workers to win a job, in which their qualifications fit in. One of the sites that frequently offers health care-related jobs is the Public Health Online site, which not only attract public health professionals, but also other potential individuals that qualify in various public health careers (Public Health Online, n.d.). Furthermore, employment sites also offer jobs for either a population-based health care organization or an institutional services organization.
An example of an institutional service organization would be the Texas Medical Center, which offers wide variety of jobs. This organization empowers its institutionally shared and centrally managed environment (Texas Medical Center, n.d.). It offers job positions, such as Proprietary Security Officer that is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of both the staff and patients. On the other hand, a population-based health care organization focuses on a broader aspect of population health care. Usually, this type of agency, institution, or organization has a different approach when it comes to health care. It normally highlights its goal, such as improving the health care of a specific population through its initiatives. In some cases, this type of organization addresses a global need for health care improvement. An example of this would be the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, which envisions that every individual must have the best health and care possible (Institute for Healthcare Improvement, n.d.). One of the jobs that it offers is the Customer Service Consultant that oversee the institute’s function in terms of meeting the mission and maintaining the reputation of the organization. This position also aims to ensure that patients receive the right service they need at all times.
