Culture in an organization reflect the behavior, knowledge, values and beliefs of all stakeholders including employees and senior management. Khoramin et al. (2014) in their article describe the organizational culture by utilizing different models of intellectual and human capital such as Hindi Typology, Schien typology, Scholes’ perspective, Deshpande ‘s perspective, Quinn’s perspective, Skandia model and intellectual capital. According to the authors, organizational culture plays an important role in setting company’s objectives, developing strategy, organizational structure and system. All these elements together provide competitive advantage to the company and offer flexibility to respond to the changes occurring at market place (Khoramin et al., 2014, p. 175-82).
In past few years, the level of competition in domestic and international market has gone up significantly and no organization can sustain without competitive advantage. He (2012) in his article describes the importance of competitive advantage, and ways to achieve it. The author says that competitive advantage can be achieved by continuous innovation and enhancement. The author describes the role of effective leadership in building healthy organizational culture, in bringing change and in maintaining competitive advantage. Organizational leaders should first identify the essential changes and implement them efficiently (He, 2012, p. 45-50).
A learning organizational culture can be developed by: developing collaborative group of leaders; by developing and communicating inspiring mission; and by learning and changing mental models and implementing those models. Organization should encourage communication between employees to expand capacity of employees. Employees should be encouraged to learn and implement new things. Leaders should remove all obstacles and establish learning environment that is driven by research, learning and innovation (Wen, 2014, p. 289).
