The management of the human is significant in order to ameliorate the quality of life on earth. This is a process that seeks to ensure that the earth’s resources are used economically and effectively for the best of all the earth’s inhabitants. The management of the human environment has been enhanced in the last few decades because of increasing pressures of globalization and global warming. Industrialization and technological advancements that have been developed within this period has contributed immensely to environmental degradation. Therefore, world governments and various non-governmental organizations have joined efforts to mobilize resources and use them to administer the utilization of economic and natural goods and services.
Human environment denotes the sum total of all influences and conditions that characterize the development and behavior of individuals and societies at large. Therefore, it is not desirable to manage human environments, but rather essential because of its inherent internal and external nature. More fundamentally, it is critical to canvas the consequences of human influence over time and space. This is vital because influences and conditions that are significant in management of human environments are experienced and perceived differently by both individuals and societies. Therefore, ecosystems both natural and artificial which are within the influence of mankind need prudent management. Man needs to tap the energy that circulates within these ecosystems for political, social and economic gains. Some of these include art, machines, language, institution, food chains, respiration and photosynthesis. This are used to transfer energy from one factor to another. Therefore, critical control and prudent management of such stores of energy and conduits of energy are essential if human environment is to survive the numerous challenges that have come into the picture of late.
However, the management of human environment has been met with challenging problems which have to be addressed in order for mankind to harness the beauty and fruits of nature. One of the challenges that face managing these environments is scarcity of resources. In order to preserve human environments and ensure sustainability it is critical to have adequate resources to facilitate any projects initiated. It is critical to realize that human beings develop several methods to ensure survival. However, it is essential to reduce the degree of scarcity levels to ensure sustainability and that a productive system is in place. In addition, there are others factors that are beyond the control of individuals. This can be categorized into two sections. These are acts of God and acts of strangers. Acts of God denote those beyond the control of man such as environmental catastrophes.
This serves to deprive man of human needs and may even cause death. Societies have with time deployed a number of ways to counter this but with less success rates. Innovation is an incredible gift to mankind but it has been less significant with regards to reducing the effects of acts of God. On the other hand, acts of strangers include those done by fellow human beings. This is in accordance with the theory of evolution as developed and propagated by Charles Darwin. In a world of finite resources and a seemingly increasing population, survival for the fittest is inevitable. While few are unintentional, most of acts of strangers are done willingly to advance the interest of the person initiating them.
