Introduction
Developing one’s skills is very crucial to one’s personal development. Improving one’s skills has many advantages such as saving one’s time and resources, giving a person competitive advantage over others and increasing their income among others. Improving an individual’s skills can be achieved via numerous methods such as furthering one’s education, gaining skills through experience and the use of computers, especially in this era of technology among other means. Computers can help in improving an individual’s skills in numerous ways. I have come to finish my studies in the United States so as to improve my skills. A good example of how I intend to improve my skills is with the use of computers. Improving my skills with computers can help me to further my education and learning, get work done easily, keep in touch with my close friends and relatives, improve my interpersonal and technical skills and better my chances of getting good employment opportunities.
There are very many skills that I can improve with computers. First, I can be able to access a wide range of services and resources. For example, in the quest to further my education through learning, I can get in depth knowledge in using computers so that I can understand basic features about using the internet. This can save me a lot of resources, time and energy by giving me access to free online information resources and services. This would be very helpful for both my research work and course work. Computers can also help me to improve my skills of using online services, for example, online shopping or banking. Computers can enable me improve my essential skills in ICT, thus developing my practical skills in the same area. Today, computer skills are applicable in very many job and work situations. A good example is seen in the fact that many organizations rely on computer applications such as the basic IT concepts, use of spread sheets, word processing, use of databases, presentations, email, internet and management of files or records among others. Computers can also help me to improve my interpersonal skills such as verbal communication. In this age of technology, computers are used to make presentations, both virtual and real, even to audiences that are not physically present. Learning such computer skills can improve my presentation and communication skills in the sense that I can be able to talk to people that are not physically present but still see them and communicate to them effectively. This is made possible via features such as video conferencing, which come with most computers nowadays. One might be very efficient when it comes to communicating over the phone but face major challenges when addressing people in groups, especially face to face. Computers can make this easier.

The ability to use computers and other technologies related to computers will offer me high levels of comfort when using applications and programs related to computers.
