I envision a healthy and productive life surrounded by my loving family and friends. In order to achieve a healthy life, I will become conscious about the food and the lifestyle that I am going to live by. I will choose to eat more vegetables and as much as possible, refrain from eating food from fast food chain. I commit to engage myself and perform different physical activities and exercises. This exercise I will perform and balance it with my work and other activities. Also, I will join and surround myself with like-minded people, so that we will continuously encourage and motivate each other to strive hard.
As I go along with my everyday life, I intend to discipline myself performing important things that will contribute to improve my character as a person and not bother with negative surroundings. To get myself focus, I will maintain a to-do list to make sure that I attend to essential works that I have. As much as possible, I will avoid activities that are addictive and will definitely waste my time. I will instill myself the discipline of waking up early and get my work rolling. While maintaining a healthy and productive life, I will make sure that I will maintain communication with my family and my friends. There maybe times that my work and other activities will consume my time, however, I will see to it that I get to correspond with my friends and find time to catch up with my family.
“I must follow the people. Am I not the leader?’ – Benjamin Franklin
Great leaders have positive attitude, commitment and confidence. Beyond these essential characteristics, smart leaders use his exceptional skills and abilities to maintain and empower a collective team. With his knowledge and enormous experience, leaders not only enrich his learning but also openly communicate his known information and knowledge. During discussions, a leader not only listens to his assumptions but also encourage everyone in his team to give suggestions and ideas from their team.
Before coming up with a conclusion and giving his decisions, a great leader facilitates brainstorming in order to give his team members a chance to contribute their ideas and propositions. More than anything else, a great leader spends time with his team with necessary time and resources. He does not dictate and impose his own rules but allow roles and responsibilities to change and evolve. In this manner, not only will the leader learn, but also his team members as well. Whenever there are issues and challenges, a great leader do not just clear up the fires and focus his attention on symptoms. Beyond this, a great leader tries to understand the situation and uncover the reasons behind the occurrence of an issue and seek to discover the root cause. A leader evaluates the performance of his team members. He not only does this annually as dictated by the company policy, but also offers immediate feedback to each of them. He also offers individualized coaching to ensure that each team member understand the importance of his feedback to improve their work performance. This action of a leader shows that he values the work and presence of his team member and provides them with opportunities to enhance their performance through his constructive criticisms.
