Job description
The main work of the Chief Executive Officer is to see the day to day running of the company. He is responsible for everything from the budgeting to developing the strategies to ensure the business is growing. Some of the main work as a CEO includes the following.
Controlling
The CEO controls all the activities of the company. He ensures that the activities and the main objectives of the company are done in a better way.
Planning
The CEOs also work to plan what other staff will do. He ensures that all the activities of the enterprise are well designed (Ping et al, 2012). He initiates new business and gives approval if there is a new invention or project.
Managing
The CEO is also a manager. He manages other managers and ensure they do the right job which can boost the activities of the company. He also manager other staffs well to ensure he boosts their morale.
Recruiting and Staffing
The CEO also is responsible for recruiting new employees to the company. He ensures that those he recruits are competent and can work well under minimum supervision (Mwangi, 2015). He is also responsible for the promotion of the existing staff and staff appraisal.
Training and rewarding
Training and rewarding of the employees is important in an organization since it boosts the morale of the personnel hence enabling them to work much harder and this will essential lead to the growth of the company. Training and the rewarding system should, therefore, be well designed to suit all the employees. This is one of the ways which may lead to an effective of training and rewarding employees.
Grouping of staff
Group the employees according to their job specialization. Since those who do technical jobs will regularly need more training to boost their skills.
Tracking
The company should have a monitoring system to evaluate the work done by the employees. Those who have tremendously done a good job should be considered first when a promotion comes.
