Being a student is an aspiring journey in life, though it requires a lot of work and dedication. In contrast to high school life, when entering a college or a university person reaches mature age and has to take full responsibility over own life. Moreover, it becomes necessary to comprehend more complex information, because university and college educational programs are more advanced. Students usually desire to obtain hand-on skills, participate in various extracurricular activities and network, while some need to earn money to fund their studies.
One of the ways to mitigate challenges that are faced by a student is to improve time management. In fact, this tool is useful also for personal development and goal setting. Students need to evaluate what they spend time on, set priorities that would be aligned to goals and plan daily schedule accordingly. Several important factors that need to be considered are leisure time, time for sleep, and for personal development. It is also essential to stay healthy, because studying late and moral exhaustion can have negative impact on your mood and health too.
One of the solutions for students who want to continue studying, but they have limited time due to work or distance from the college, is online education. This type of education emerged in the world not so long time ago, but already proposes a full replacement of regular education. The increased accessibility of the internet created vast opportunities for online education development. (Karber, 2003) According to the surveys, e-education became popular after 2000 when several of the US universities started to offer programs online.
Popularity of online education can be explained in many ways, though the most important factors are availability and flexibility. Students can get enrolled regardless of their location and can manage their own learning schedules, limited only by regulations of the university. Also, online education is a very innovative tool that provides unique approach to every student, which results in higher comprehension of information. These classes are accessible from anywhere with the internet connection and at any time. Psychologically, it is easier to understand certain information when you are prepared for it. It is also possible to try over and over again until student understands the topic, in contrast to classroom learning with other students whose learning skills vary. E-education allows to set own pace of studying and thus empowers students to learn according to their abilities and receive more satisfaction from their college years.
In conclusion, online education is not only a breakthrough direction in education, but also a way to improve life balance during your college years. Albert Einstein’s famous phrase proclaims that “intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death”, and with online tools it is possible to acquire more knowledge just by surfing the internet.
