Essay On My Academic And Career Goals

In life a person needs to have a purpose for living. One has to set clear standards and goals which are meant to be achieved in order to give life meaning. If people had to live each day as it comes without necessarily planning for the future then many of the achievements they have could have set my own goals which are meant to govern and give me a sense of direction. I aspire to be a psychologist in the future and it is for this reason that I have set both my academic and career goals.
In regard to my academics, I want to pass my assessment exams with distinctions. I have set out my career objectives and they act as a guideline that I have to measure against because my academic performance is what will determine whether I become what I want to be, that is a psychologist. This can only be achieved by working hard in class so as to attain very good grades in order to be admitted at the university.
Any career path that one intends to take solely depends on academic prowess and the two therefore should go hand in hand. As a practicing psychologist I will have to be sober minded in as much as I am expected to be competent at what I do because I will be expected to handle my fellow human beings. It is for this reason that I will gladly want to do consultations widely on the job as well as in academics because for a psychologist learning never ends after leaving college.
I believe that by setting my own goals will help plan my life well, not only now but also in future. They will act as my guiding principles upon which I will measure myself in everything that I will be doing in and outside the classroom. This way, the future is promising because I hold my future in my hands.
