My dream job is to become the Operations Manager of Saudia Arabian Airlines. As the Operations Manager of this airline company, the key responsibility is to oversee the ground operations and air traffic control. I am tasked to watch over the schedules of the pilot and crew trainings, submission of medical reports and take care of the background checking of the employees. One of the critical responsibilities is to guard the scheduling and discuss the finalizing of schedules with the in-flight departments. Aside from this, the airline manager must see to it the operations of the department are running smoothly and tasks are accomplished on time. I am also responsible to conduct the interviews to hire and select the future staff and crew of Saudi Arabian Airlines. The schedules of all flights shall be under my care as well as the schedules of the pilots, staff, crew and flight attendants must be meticulously followed. The Operations Manager must be updated with regard to any alteration or modification of the landing schedule of the aircrafts of the airline company. This will ensure that the pilots, staff and crew will be apprised of the exact location of landing. The manager has the full responsibility to inform the pilots and crew of the finalized flight schedule as a preparation for landing. At the same time, the Manager has to ensure that the standards, rules and regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration are strictly followed. The Manager has the duty to create new marketing strategies that will help generate more business for the company and to look for ways on how to improve the processes in the department.
The educational background of the Operations Manager of Saudia Airline is required to be a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Science and should undergo special courses in airline operations. A good Operations Manager should be organized, keen to details and good with taking charge of making a schedule for aircraft maintenance. Having previous work experience with flight operations officers and flight dispatchers is an advantage.
