Rep. Donna Howard, BSN
Donna Howard is a 61 years old woman, Community advocate by profession. She is currently in thein the Texas House of Representatives Texas as the Representative of House District 48 under the Democratic Party. Her campaigning mostly focus on removing barriers to Health Care, strengthening public education, promoting fiscal responsibility of tax dollars and tax increasing transparency in all levels of government.
Rep. Donna mostly focuses on health care delivery system, on September 2013; she made it a felony to abuse emergency room staff in the ERs. Before that, it used to be a misdemeanor, thereby taking the wellbeing of health workers at heart.
Donna is also advocating for the uninsured Texans to obtain quality health care services. Though the public health official recognize this need, Donna has taken as her personal task to ensure that a system will be put in place to ensure this happens, thereby increasing the accessibility of quality health care by all increasing job opportunities for health workers.
According to Donna, patience care experience and nursing education has helped her personally to server her constituents better. In conclusion, most legislators who are also nurses do not put their professionalism of nursing aside once elected but use the skill acquired in the day to day activities and also try to up bring the health care delivery system to a better level to ensure that all health care workers including nurses are well taken care of.
