1. There are many situations when telling a lie can be considered moral. In this instances, the “truth” is usually called a white lie. For example, if you are trying to protect your close friend from someone’s judgement, it will be ethical to tell a lie. It is important to consider the feelings of your family and friends. In this cases, one should not tell the full truth but just partial. When you overheard, some guys calling your friend not pretty, there is no necessity to tell it to your friend right away. This truth is likely to influence your friend’s self-esteem and mood. Therefore, it is moral to tell a lie when there is a necessity. Lies may help people to avoid uncomfortable situations. Also, such technique may help a person in protecting people who are close to him/her.
2. In my opinion, ethics can be taught. Many people in the world do not operate or use ethics in their lives. These people may be born in the same cities. However, some of them tend to be more ethical than the others. Ethical qualities come with experience. The proof for this is that some people are more ethical than the others. Also, I think parents can encourage ethical behaviour at early stages of child’s development. Therefore, ethics is a skill that can be acquired within time.
3. People have many obligations towards animals. We share a planet with them, so it is important to let them use it just as much as we do. People should understand that there is always a limit for killing animals. Many species became extinct because of people. We cannot take under control animal selection processes. It is important for us to understand that we should let animals live their lives. Of course, there should be some control over the areas where animals can live. However, in general, we should take care of the animals and not kill them.
4. There is an ethical part in euthanasia when we help to die people who are going to pass away soon anyways. By this, I mean patients who have terminal diseases. These sick people are usually not living but surviving their last dates of life. And if there is no hope that they will recover, then it is necessary to fulfil their wish to die. All their days are being spent in pain. So, if one can help him/her to leave this world in peace, then there is an ethical explanation to that. Also, one should remember that these people can commit suicide even without us. It is our duty to assist them with their life choice.
5. The death penalty should not be continued to be used as a punishment. First, it is an easy way to get away with severe crimes that these criminals have committed. If they were sentenced to death penalty, then they should not get it. It is an easy way to solve a problem for them and not feel the true punishment. I think staying in jail can be harder than just dying. Serving their sentence will make them regret their misdemeanour. Also, if a person was sentenced wrongfully, there is an opportunity to set him/her free. However, you cannot make a person come back after the death penalty.
6. There is a certain period during pregnancy when a baby’s heart beating can be heard. I think it is the time when abortions only in very specific cases should be allowed. Women should have a right to do an abortion before there is the heartbeat. It is simple for women to understand that they are pregnant, so, in this case, they have time to consider all the pros and cons they get while having a baby. Before there is a heartbeat, it is just a part of a woman’s body. After that, there is a human being inside a woman’s body to whom abortion is death. So, there should be a fine line for times when abortion is allowed.
7. I think eugenics is a very immoral way of creating new people. Human birth is a very natural process. It seems to work all right even without the intrusion of the government. Such approach may cause many issues in the society. We will lack people who will be working at the jobs that seem to be less appealing to more intelligent people. Thus, we will not have any diversity. It will negatively affect the relationship dynamics on our planet. Therefore, scientists should not influence childbirth.
