Introduction
A story is told of dog that tirelessly fought the brigands in defence of his master. This dog proved to have a more than just a pet attitude in him as he would not leave his masters corpse despite the fact that it was covered with wounds. The dog went an extra mile of chasing birds and beasts of prey from attacking his master at all costs. In Epirus, a dog helped in execution of his master’s murderer by barking and snapping on him until he confessed of committing the crime.
An example of a dogs unlimited love for human beings good is experienced when a 7 year old dog rescued a young child from a deadly Coral snake bite as it was slithering close to bite her. Instead, Bruits was bite by the snake which almost led him to death but he was immediately rushed to the hospital (Comfort, 23). The dog was later flown to Los Angeles for the National Hero Awards where the awarding committee questioned the people present during the ceremony on why a creature like a dog would take a thought and step into doing such a fierce act. This question touched many as in the contrary to the good always done by dogs to human, if none, it’s not many who would risk their lives to rescue a dog as it did in the story (Helbrough, 78).
Numerous heroic cases of dogs have been reported which has led to the proof that dogs have a loving and caring heart towards human beings who do not often feedback the same act of love to their hairy friends. Worldwide, only a very few percentage of people treat their dogs as they are supposed to by the Animals Rights Federation. Despite of all these and other positive contributions of dogs in bettering the existence of human life, some human being still treats them as though they were a menace to the society.
It is rather unrealistic how a person can train an animal to be this friendly and royal to his master while on the other hand, they themselves live in a world full of hate, competition and ethnicity. Human beings attitudes towards each other is greatly challenged by that of dogs that are always service to their masters and treats him as their king of whom every little word is fully adhered to (Comfort, 167).
Dogs possess some characters that make them to be stated as man’s best friend pet. They are the only pets that have an everlasting loyalty to their masters. It is quite rare to find a dog that has attacked its master in its normal healthy mind. These pets do the contrary of what human do to them and act as per their master’s command through following signals and intelligently noting their master’s commands (Woodward, 2008). Communication between dogs and human being are very specific in nature. This is due to the fact that for these pets to understand what specific signs, what a certain facial impressions or words means, they will have to undergo intensive training under their master who creates a stable link of friendship with them.
As research carried out by the Animal Rights Federation recently proved that professional dog’s trainers can easily teach dogs huge vocabularies which always leads to better form of interspecies communication. For example, if a dog needs to relieve himself, asking him “outside” is the best way to communicate to him of which he will respond excitedly through barking as he rushes heading outside. By naturally talking to one’s dog, effectively affects his mode of responding to different words you alter when referring to different commands (Woodward, 2008).
Individuals relate with dogs at a level that they can’t relate with other human beings. The bond between human and dogs tend to reveal the unique insight into both the dog’s and the master’s psychology. These pets seem to be always in tune with their masters and residents desires and emotions. Dogs offer companionship to their guardians or masters in times of low moods by either Wapping their tales on the individuals or either leaking their master’s fingers and legs as they playfully pretend to bite. This character helps in building a stable friendship between the two species (Helbrough, 168).
It is too unfortunate how dogs in most parts of Africa are treated. Nevertheless of their provision of tight securities, dogs are left unfed and made to wonder around in search for remnants in the streets. This is an unfair way of treating these friendly creatures. There are millions of dogs roaming in the streets without anyone to take care of them. Some of these dogs were disowned by their masters under different circumstances. For example, those individuals who have several dogs in their households tend to lack enough food to sustain the whole group and thus leading to the “disposing” of the feeble ones in the streets or even killing them. This is so harsh and unethical holding to the fact that these animals have been insuring your safety without any slight resistance. This act is so inhumanly as compared to the fact that dogs deserve very little care for healthy survival.
As compared to the Western society, dogs are taken in a very different perspective. There being an extreme number of over two hundred breeds of dogs, each dog symbolises its special essence and relation to human beings and their behaviour. These communities treat dogs in a much cautious way. Any kind of mistreatment of dogs or any other animal is highly penalised by the state and can as well lead to imprisonment of the accused in case there is staunch evidence that the act was intentional.
The Assisting Spokane County Regional Animal Protective Service (ASPCA) has of resent tightened its strictness on the rules that protect the rights for animals (inclusive of dogs and cats). Its effectiveness in governance has helped in great reduction of human cruelty to dogs and other related animals. In the past times, animals were treated harshly and with intense cruelty. For example, dogs were left to sleep outside as watch-out objects without a kennel shelter from rain or the scorching sun during the day (Comfort, 241).
It is rather interesting that some communities rare dogs for consumption purposes. Consumption of dog meat has been reported in some different communities around the world. These activities were experienced in countries China, Europe, ancient Rome and Mexico. During the hunger moments in times of war, soldiers used to kill dogs and use them as survival food apart from other hardships. Dogs were usually bred from wolves to heighten their senses which would help in tracking and hunting their mater’s prey. Dogs are actually used in herding livestock in most communities and have an intelligent form of ability that is used by security officers to search for drugs or weaponry and ammunitions from places where human beings can’t easily detect.
As compared to the characteristic also viewed in human beings, dogs still walk in packs of their similar clans or flock as wolves did. A similar character is also seen in human beings who live with those of his kind and are high protective of their territory. Dogs often fight stranger ones that take a step in invading their residents (Helbrough, 271).
In different circumstances, these animals allow adaptation of foreign youngsters of their kind that they find astray and help them grow under their intense protection as if they were their own. This feature makes them sound more of human being and not just mare furry carnivores.
