Problem Prevention Plan
Problem prevention plan is a document that will act as a guide to running your day today activities in the classroom. Classroom management is one of the most vital things within the education environment setting. This is because it will set the ambience for learning to take place effectively. The prevention plan does not rely heavily on punishment behavior, instead it emphasis on setting the right environment (Damiani, 2011) that will help in preventing problems from arising in the future. This kind of a program ensures participation of all the students to ensure that their needs are met and satisfied. In this case we shall use grade 2 as our subject of study. Therefore, it is important to have a (Algozzine, Daunic, Algozinne, & Smith, 2010) conducive environment for all the students to learn and thus it is one of my major priorities at the moment.
The people who will be involved in the process of making these rules will be the teachers, students and parents. This is because they are the key players in this case. The students are the ones who will use the classes hence customizing it for them is essential. The teachers too are the ones who teach students in the classroom hence must have a favorable environment to do so. As for the parents their role might seem irrelevant but no, it is important because they are part of the stakeholders of the school hence their opinion should be sought.
The classroom walls will be well painted with vibrant colors that will get the students attention as soon as they enter the door step of the classroom. This will help the students to be vibrant. The reason why I decided to choose this as a rule is because colors play a crucial role in motivating the students to work hard. There will also be the use of natural lighting that will come from the windows. In addition, the walls will also have maps, pictures of famous people, different pieces of art, different cultures will also be exhibited not forgetting the works of some of the students (Damiani, 2011). This is to encourage the students to work hard in all that they do. This is to act as a guide and constant reminder to the students of their objectives in school. Their seats and tables will be made in such a way that they are in circle so that they can easily see their classmates since they (Algozzine, Daunic, Algozinne, & Smith, 2010) will be facing each other. The floor will be carpeted hence increasing the comfort ability of the students besides creating a sense of calm as it blends well with the colors of the wall.
As the lesson begins, the students are expected to have journals and colorful pens so as to take notes and make their personal thoughts, art or questions that they could be having in their minds. It is a rule for each student to have all the above things before he or she is allowed into the classroom. This is to help reduce time wasting and disturbance to others in the name of borrowing something that they do not have.
All said and done, a good classroom environment will have a big impact on the learning process of the students. With such a convenient and suitable environment, it is with hope that it will help the students to engage in critical thinking, reflection of oneself and improve their discussion skills at large.
