The drastic changes in society due to digital technology has led to the complexity of crimes in world. Digital technology, through distribution and storage of information, will affect society on a personal and community level. The drastic revolutions of societal trends are greatly changing the way people live, work, learn, as well as spend their free time.
Certainly, some of the societal issues that will influence the criminal justice system is mostly associated to behavior change. As the societal trends, in the coming years the problem of adolescent delinquency is at an increase. This behavior change will increase criminality in society. Additionally, family issues and childcare are not adhered to; hence, many children lack essential parental guidance to develop and grow in a good way (Siegel & Senna, 2007).
The social activities of the family are more focused on work. AS ammeter of fact, family is the basic socializing agent, and because everyone is always busy, the socialization process will not be complete. Therefore, in the next ten years the criminal justice system will be affected. Additionally, the societal trends on attitudes towards criminal justice system increasingly negative (Siegel & Senna, 2007). This implies that in the future, people attitude will determine how corporate the society will be towards the criminal justice system. Other societal trends that will influence criminal justice system in the next ten years include massive migration, multicultural populations, age-composition demographics, globalization, terrorism, as well as technological developments.
Crime control model should be used to deal with future criminal problems. As a matter of fact, most of the criminal issues projected in the future could be controlled in various ways. Additionally, restorative justice is also crucial; the victim and the offender should face each other and apologize on the consequences (Siegel & Senna, 2007). In fact, the perpetrator of justice should see the damages and pain caused, so that can prevent them from re-offending. Conclusively, a lot of research and studies should be undertaken by the criminal justice system to be certain of the future criminality.
