Everyone has their own special place. It can be a hideout for those days you just have to get away or simply a place which makes you happy and cheers you up when you are down. For me, it is the park not far away from my home. Not only does it have a big history. After all this is the place where I threw my first Frisbee, where I met my best friend and got my first kiss. It has always been there whenever I needed it and I am lucky to have a wonderful place like this to call “mine”. My special place is diverse, memorable and perfect.
My park may be not as large as some other ones. It may not be as big either. But for me, it is the most beautiful and special place here. It can be whatever you want it to be: that sunny meadow perfect for enjoying the sun, that quite place under the trees just for when you are feeling extra sensitive. I can be whoever I want here: either pretend to be child once again on the colorful playground or dream about what my life might be like while looking at the senior couples enjoying each other’s company on the meadows. The possibilities are endless. It is amazing just how much this little park can offer, how many different roles you can play in it, and how much it can help.
My special place is full of memories. I have gone there when I was both happy and sad, jumping with excitement and dragging my feet in disappointment. Nature offers a wonderful inspiration. Be it the beautiful flowers, the strong trees or the freeing wind, it is a great thing to draw from. Not for nothing did so many artists turn to Mother Nature when they felt their skills letting them down. I am not be the next Leonardo De Vinci, but I do know that this wonderful park can be there for anyone: from the poor to the rich, from the young to the old, from the talented to the searching. Perhaps one day, it will help me find my ideal place in life.
Perfect. It is not a word easily given. Yet I can surely say that the park not far from my home really is perfect to me. If it be different, it would not be the same. It changes every season. Each year it has something new. I never return back to the identical place. My special place changes all the time, just like life does, just like everything should. Sometimes even I try to change it for the better. Who knows, perhaps someday I’ll be the one inspiring someone else.
A park can be many things. For me it is that one place that is forever different, full of many life moments and there for me whenever I need it. There are moments in life when you just want to get a way, when you need it. I am lucky to have such a peaceful and enjoyable place not far away from home. It has been with me through my happy moments, but didn’t leave me when I was down. Perhaps I’ll go there again today, just to remember what it was like
