Arguably, gun law is one of the debatable laws in the world today. As a matter of fact, there are various arguments that have been raised about the relationship between stricter gun laws and gun violence. Others believe that gun laws will help in controlling gun violence while others argue that even in the presence of gun laws; gun violence will still be witnessed. Perhaps, the vital question that runs in the mind of many people is whether stricter gun laws will help in controlling gun violence. The establishment of stricter gun laws will not help in controlling gun violence.

In most cases, people blame the gun for various gun violence in the globe. It should be understood that a gun just like any other weapon is inanimate, meaning it is not in a position to cause violence on its own. The human beings are the ones who use the gun to execute gun violence ((Malcolm, 2005). Therefore, having gun laws does not reduce gun violence. In addition, deviant behavior in society is not caused by guns; nevertheless, gun laws do not reduce individual deviant behavior. This means that with gun laws, deviant behavior will still be rampant in society.
Criminals are always against the law, and there is no way they will respect the gun laws. Hence, even in the presence of the gun laws, criminals will still own guns and cause gun violence. In fact, the public will respect the gun laws, but in the long run they will remain defenseless in case of an attack (DeConde, 2003). Law abiding society will give up their guns in respect of the law, but the criminals will never intend to do so.
Stricter gun laws will not help control gun violence. These are because gun laws will lead to the creation of black market, which will mean a loss of revenue and failure of adhering to the law. This implies that even if guns are banned, criminals will still get access to guns and cause havoc in the neighborhood (Malcolm, 2005). Statistics show that stricter gun laws do not reduce crime or stop gun violence. In fact, gun laws will make criminals more comfortable since they are aware that law abiding citizens have no guns.
Those who believe that stricter gun laws will help in controlling gun violence assert that it is the gun that kills. This implies that a criminal without a gun will not cause gun violence (DeConde, 2003). In addition, they believe that gun control will potentially control gun violence. In general perspective, it is evident that stricter gun laws will not control gun violence.
